of devastation caused by the fires here in Colorado. Pictures of the devastation burned across facebook as people’s hearts cried for their brothers and sisters who are suffering. We have taken these dear souls into our hearts and minds on a daily basis, praying for rain, praying for containment of the fires, praying for people, praying for forests, praying for homes, praying…As a global community, we are aware of our human family’s suffering. As a result, we bring all that we can to ease the suffering. On my facebook homepage, I witnessed a cyber rainstorm as hundreds of people splashed glorious pictures of pouring rain. The beauty of this love offering filled me with so much hope.
In addition, you can text help to REDCROSS at 90999 and the $10.00 charged to your cellphone bill will be sent to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts. You can do this as many time as you like. Try it now. You may have to call your carrier to remove the block if that shows up.
Support for the front line also showed up on our social media as we shared pictures and comments of firefighters and medical staff helping people in need of care. I encourage you to give as much as possible to the Red Cross. Remember, we cannot out-give God. Let’s put that to the test together. I offer the following meditation to move you to a place of giving from your heart. Consider this my prayer for our neighbors – people, animals, plant life, anything or anyone affected by the fires.
Get centered and sit quietly, allowing yourself to settle into this moment… Bring your awareness to your breath and notice the ease with which it moves in and out of your body… Follow that breath deep within… Deep into your heart… Be present to the Love that resides there…
Know with me that there is a Divine Source present here and now… This Infinite Intelligence is the creative expression of Life Itself. Bring into your awareness how Spirit animates all of creation with the gifts of grace, beauty, purpose, love, power, potential, and so many other attributes. As you connect to this Power, say the following prayer with me.
I recognize how Spirit works in and as my life. From the amazing way in which the Divine handles every function of my physical body to the many blessings It bestows upon me before I even ask. I pause to reflect on those blessings now in health… home… relationships… career… finances… spiritual practices available to me…
I know the power of this Presence in my life in the lives of my friends and family, my neighbors near and far, known and unknown… I see the Divine in nature and experience it in my life when I bring awareness to Its presence. In this moment, I invoke that awareness of the Presence of God in the hearts, minds, and experiences of all those affected by the fires…
While I may not understand the nature of God’s presence in these experiences, I trust Source is working on the behalf of each individual for the purpose of evolving their souls… expanding their consciousness… and opening their hearts to greater love and loving…
I fill with compassion… love… forgiveness… and gratitude… for all that is unfolding in the way of help and support as the Divine reveals Itself through each of us. I know our prayers are heard and answered. I know our love is powerful. I know each person who has lost anything or anyone as a result of this experience is wrapped in Divine Love as they move through their mourning process. I know each person has an opportunity to turn this devastation into the best thing that ever happened to them… I pause to consider allowing this truth to be so in every cell of my body.
I allow gratitude to open my heart wide for all my human family in need and for all of nature. In this gratitude opening is a giving barometer. I tap into that now and allow the Divine to guide me into giving as much as I can to this cause, knowing the power of my gift to help those in need. I release into Divine Law, trusting it to unfold the highest good for all on this human journey. And so it is.
