This little light of mine. I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine. I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine. I’m gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let is shine, let it shine!
I sat in meditation on Friday, filled with emotion. As the tears welled up in my eyes, I wondered what they were for. This happened before I got the news about the shootings in Aurora.
On my way to work, the news gave count of the injured and dead. Tears streamed down my face. My hand clasped my mouth in horror. My empathic abilities took me right into the heart of the pain.
As I felt into the pain, allowing my experience to be full in the sorrow with my brothers and sisters, a deeper calling emerged.
It is times such as these for which you have trained and prayed so diligently. Be that conduit of LOVE and LIGHT NOW!
Feeling the energy of pain coming into my heart connected me to all those who have been touched by this tragedy. Opening a second channel to the Divine through my crown kept my awareness tethered to a higher source. In that space, I allowed the Divine within me to take the pain and transmute it into LIGHT into LOVE into COMPASSION into STRENGTH.
Throughout the weekend, I’ve had emotional tugs toggling between sorrow and celebration as many of my friends and colleagues passed monumental milestones in their professional journeys. Perhaps you have been on a similar journey in the past few days. Perhaps longer.
This is the fabric of this thing called Life.
We are often taken unawares by the events of the day. Unprepared, uncertainty can grab us and send us into a whirlwind of confusion, negativity, anger, sadness, numbness, fog all in an attempt to answer the allusive, “Why?”
We may never know the answer to that question because it cannot be reasoned with the intellect. But there is still something we can do. We can move into our hearts and…
We can shine our LIGHT!
First for ourselves, to reconnect us to the Divine, to the idea that God is all that there is. We can turn within and know that Spirit is here now with us, moving through us and moving through and as every situation and experience that touches us.
As we align ourselves with this truth, we can shine our LIGHT for others. We can turn our LIGHT up so bright that it pulls us and everyone around us out of the darkness. We can allow our LIGHT to be the witness for lost loved ones who have moved on into their greater yet to be.
Our LIGHT can help all see the miracles that are still happening here. The first responders with all their efforts, concern, and expertise to help. The flood of prayers from across the nation. The abundance of blood donations, so much so that Bonfils is booked into next week. There is a coming together, a building of community at times like these. Together, our LIGHT is amplified!
When we shine our LIGHT, we are saying thank you to that Divine in ourselves and in others. In essence, we are saying, Namaste. We are getting out of the way in order for a deeper truth to be realized.
As we allow this LIGHT to guide us through the coming hours, days, and weeks, listen for the gentle surrender that shows up within us and says,
Let go and Let God.
Whatever your faith or beliefs, I encourage you to draw on them now. Allow yourself to be a conduit for God. Let your LIGHT be part of the healing balm so desperately needed at this time. Blessings.

Yes A’ra, the light does continue to shine. At this time it may seem grey but if we open our eyes and thoughts we will receive the illumination of light that shines from most of the people on this planet – God shining through us. We must allow ourselves to grieve but know we will see the sun shine again.
Namaste,
Peg
Thank you, Peg. Many blessings.
